Even our Prophet was asked when was the time for the “doomsday hour” (7-Araf, 187); and it was revealed to our Prophet that only God knew this information. In the next verse, it is stated that our Prophet does not know the “unseen” (gayb). In our day, when we consider that there are many “doomsday hour” predictors, we better understand the importance of this information’s being described as “gayb” by the Quran.
